Technical Support
ACP offers help to our customers who are designing new ductile iron parts, or are considering converting to castings from other manufacturing processes such as forging, metal fabrication, flame cutting, or powdered metal.
Examples of ACP technical support:
- ACP's know-how in casting design can help to minimize weight, increase strength, or improve wear characteristics. Some assemblies can be consolidated into single castings.
- We have AutoCad capability for two-dimensional drawings. With our Pro/Engineer program, we can translate IGES or STEP files for three-dimensional modeling. We also use Pro/Mechanica software for FEA stress analysis.
- Our solidification and fluid flow analysis software predicts possible design-related problems involving internal soundness. These programs help us recommend design modifications to improve casting quality, reduce costs, and shorten the time between your initial order and full production.
- ACP has three full-time metallurgists. We offer support to design engineers on metallurgical issues such as material selection. We have special expertise with conversions to austempered ductile iron (ADI).
- Our machining facility has extensive experience with the unique requirements for machining austempered ductile iron. We can assist in designing for optimal machining performance with ADI.
